SpeechLP is designed to support children, families, and speech-language pathologists. It is a practice tool, not a replacement for professional assessment, diagnosis, treatment, or clinical judgment.
Our Principles
Children Come First
Product decisions should be appropriate for children and understandable to the adults responsible for their care. We aim to explain what each feature does, what information it uses, and where its limits are.
Human Expertise Remains Essential
SpeechLP can provide guided activities, feedback, and practice reporting. A qualified speech-language pathologist remains responsible for clinical decisions, including assessment, target selection, and treatment planning.
Privacy Claims Should Be Specific
SpeechLP is HIPAA and COPPA compliant. Different SpeechLP features may collect or process different information. Our Privacy Policy describes the categories of information involved, why they are used, when information may be retained, and the choices available to parents and guardians.
Evidence and Limitations Belong Together
We aim to distinguish established speech-language pathology research from evidence about SpeechLP itself. When we publish product methods, pilots, or results, we will describe the source, methodology, limitations, and date of the information.
We Do Not Promise Individual Outcomes
Children have different needs and may respond differently to practice activities. SpeechLP does not guarantee a particular clinical, educational, or developmental outcome.
Accountability
- Use clear language about product capabilities and limitations.
- Label educational information separately from individualized professional advice.
- Correct inaccurate or outdated public information when it is identified.
- Provide ways for families and professionals to ask questions or report concerns.
- Keep professional expertise and caregiver choice central to product decisions.
